Mathematics Olympiad 2012

Had an awesome time at the Mathematics Olympiad in Rajuk Model College. The questions were really tough. Kinda sad that my friends and I didn't win though. I'm also disappointed with the school. Its really old fashioned and the bathrooms were really dirty. At least I got to meet Dr. Jafur Iqbal again. Dr. Anisur was also there.

Barisal Winter Vacation-2011 - Day 4

A good day. Challenged the neighbor kids to a Badminton Doubles match. My teammate (my cousin Antor) bet TK 20 with the neighbors behind my back. We played well and we were close to winning but we lost in the end. When the neighbors said to fork over the notes, Antor refused. I didn't want to play for money. I wanted to play for fun. So I decided to leave the scene. The neighbors probably said a few things to Antor which made him upset. He kinda deserved it. He was angry at me for not playing so well. I didn't give a damn, because, like I said before, I didn't want to play just to make my younger cousin 20 bucks richer. Spent the day hanging out with cousins, listening to music, watching TV, etc.

Barisal Winter Vacation-2011 - Day 3

Another good start to the day. Had a nice chat with my brother-in-law in the morning. Another good cheese sandwich for breakfast. Taught one of my little cousins how to play badminton. Sipped a chilled Coke from a glass bottle. Played some more badminton. Tutored one of my little cousins (the same one) in Maths for while. Played some more Ludo. Watched part of 2012 with my cousins. Finished the day with nicely cooked fried chicken.

Barisal Winter Vacation-2011 - Day 2

My day started pretty late. Ate my breakfast and then played some intense street badminton with my cousin Antor. Then I went to a Milad (Wake) for one of my cousins' aunt who passed away 2 days ago. After that, we played some more street badminton, and I made a video of Antor doing a wierd badminton trick. Played till sunset. Ate an awesome cheese sandwich that my cousin made for me. Then I played some Ludo (board game) with two of my cousins (Antor included). Finished the day off with a good dinner.

Barisal Winter Vacation-2011 - Day 1

It was my first time riding a Steamer Ship. Coal-powered, wooden cabins and the such. No sleep though. Spent the sleepless night browsing the internet.
The ship reached the docks at about 5am. It was pitch-black outside at the time. Grabbed a yellow scooter, bargained over the fare a bit, and soon arrived at my grandparent's place.
Looking at the orange gate made me feel nostalgic. All my relatives were asleep at the time. Who wouldn't be at 5:30 AM? I felt like yelling "WE'RE BACK!!" or "I'M HOME!!". My grandma let us in and I fell asleep around 6 o'clock.
Ever had to exchange greetings with a large number of people right after waking up? At 12pm, after all the greetings and formalities, I ate my breakfast. I helped my cousins send a few important documents relating to our grandfather being a freedom fighter. Grandchildren of war heroes might get a few job benefits now.
I held a badminton racket in my hand after such a long time. My cousin and I wacked the birdie for a while. The first day of play is always the most painful for your arm. Spent the rest of the day relaxing, chatting with cousins, and listening to music. Chicken Fry for Dinner!!

Regret

Today, one of my uncles left the country, and he won't be back for a long time. I might not see him for an even longer time because I will go to America within six months. I was too busy to spend time with him while he was in Bangladesh. And now he's gone. We never really understand how much someone or something means to us until we lose him/her/it. Now, I am regretting the fact that I couldn't spend more time with him. Regret is one of the worst pains a person can have. So, try not to do something that you will regret in the future. Do not neglect your loved ones. Spend as much time with them as you can. Cherish your loved ones and don't regret.
